Automne: one of Queen Victoria’s favorite pieces, remained immensely popular throughout Chaminade’s lifetime. Even 25 years after its publication, it continued to enjoy remarkable success. In 1913, over 8,000 copies were sold (De Guichard, Arthur. “Cécile Chaminade.” The Musician 19 March 1914, p. 165).
