Dedicated to ‘My friend Marguerite Enoch” Andante is an excerpt from No. 12, Andante, in the piano version of Callirhoë. Scherzettino is a transcription of No. 10, Scherzetto, from the piano version of Callirhoë, expanded by the addition of 32 introductory measures. Or it can be viewed as a transcription of 37b Scherzettino from Suite d’orchestra, Op. 37b. Enoch plate 1903.

Andante is lyrical and expressive, with a singing melody floating over a gentle accompaniment, Scherzettino is light, playful, and rhythmically sprightly, offering sparkling figurations and a sense of joyous spontaneity.
