W391: Sonne Clairon (March Militaire)
Text by L. Mercey. Written in G major (original key, Enoch plate 7781) and F major (Enoch plate 7782). Sonne, clarion (Blow the Bugle), was a direct influence and reflection of the events of WWI (1914-18). The text refers to obtaining victory and planting a flag at Alsace which is in northeastern France, bordering Germany. This part of the text is repeated many times to emphasize the importance of keeping the Germans from entering France.
